The role
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Engineer with deep expertise in Apache CloudStack and Ceph Storage to design, implement, and manage our cloud platform.
You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our hyper-converged infrastructure, managing storage clusters, and optimizing VM performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Management: Design, deploy, and maintain Apache CloudStack environments and Ceph distributed storage clusters (RBD/RGW).
- Ceph Administration: Manage Ceph OSDs, MONs, MDS, and MGR, performing cluster tuning, rebalancing, and capacity planning to ensure optimal performance.
- Automation: Utilize Ansible to automate infrastructure deployment, system updates, and daily operations.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex issues related to Ceph storage, KVM virtualization, and networking.
- Performance Optimization: Tune CloudStack and Ceph to meet stringent performance metrics for high-I/O workloads.
- Security & Backups: Implement data protection strategies, including snapshots, backups, and secure access management.
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on Experience: 4+ years of practical, hands-on experience deploying, building, and managing production-level Ceph storage from scratch.
- CloudStack Skills: Strong hands-on experience in designing, installing, and managing Apache CloudStack deployments with KVM hypervisors.
- Linux Proficiency: Deep knowledge of Linux system administration (Ubuntu or RHEL/CentOS).
- Strong observability coverage across all critical services enabling fast detection and diagnosis of issues
- Storage Knowledge: In-depth understanding of block storage, pool creation, and Ceph RBD integration.
- Scripting/Automation: Proficient in scripting (Bash, Python) and configuration management tools (Ansible).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with networking protocols (SDN, VLANs, Bonded interfaces).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ceph Storage, CloudStack Certified Professional).
- Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana).
